New Zealand's native wood pigeon, also known as Kereru, kūkū and kūkupa, is New Zealand’s only disperser of large fruits, such as those of karaka and taraire. The noisy beat of its wings is a distinctive sound in our forests. This one is visiting Kauri Villas.
Wise bird!
