We’re just 20 minutes from Whangarei

Some recent visitors driving up from Auckland and relying on

in-car GPS have been directed through Whangarei onto

Whareora Road and over Mount Tiger to Kauri Villas.

The route described below is more direct - and prettier!!

 

Directions

(measured in km from Riverside Bridge)

 

Approaching, and from within, Whangarei follow signs for

Onerahi, the Airport Q and Whangarei Heads.

Cross Riverside Bridge as you leave town. (km from here.)

Through Onerahi turn left just before “Hammer Hardware”

     (6.3km).

Follow Whangarei Heads Road past the Pines Golf Club (13.7km).

Continue towards Parua Bay, past the Sailing Club and

   Parua Bay Tavern.

At the top of the next rise, turn left into Owhiwa Road

    (18.6km).

Kauri Villas is then 700m on the left (19.3km)
